Purcari Winery, part of Purcari Wineries Group, awarded the title “Best Producer from Moldova” at Mundus Vini 2021

According to the results of the international wine contest Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2021, Purcari Winery, which is part of Purcari Wineries Group, has been awarded the title “Best Producer from Moldova”, and 5 Purcari wines, including 3 sparkling wines, were awarded gold medals.

5 gold, 11 silver medals, the title “Best Producer from Moldova” for the winery and “Best of Show White” for one sparkling – these are the first results of Purcari Winery in 2021 at the international level. Overall, during the spring edition of the competition held in Germany, Purcari Winery won 16 medals. A total number of 7300 wines from 39 countries registered by IWSR participated at Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2021. During the contest were awarded Purcari wines from all segments, including Sapiens and Nocturne, two new series of wines, recently launched in the international e-commerce network and HORECA.

The results were sent to each of the participants by email and, according to the conclusions of the professional jury, consisting of oenologists, wine producers and traders, sommeliers and expert journalists, five wines of Purcari won gold medals: Cuvee de Purcari Alb Brut, Cuvee de Purcari Extra Brut, as well as the sparkling Cuvee de Purcari made from the local grape variety Feteasca Alba, which is awarded gold already 2 years in a row. Two other gold-winning Purcari wines are Malbec de Purcari 2018 (Limited Edition) and Sauvignon Blanc de Purcari 2020 (1827 series). In addition to the gold medal, the sparkling Cuvee de Purcari Alb Brut was also awarded the title "Best of Show White" this year, being the most appreciated wine of all white wines from the Republic of Moldova. Thus, Purcari Winery was awarded the title "Best Producer from Moldova", with the highest rated wines of all Moldovan producers.

Eugen Comendant, COO Purcari Wineries Group: “It is a pleasure to start the year with such good news and hope we will get even better achievements by the end of the year. We are proud of these results and thank the team and consumers for their support and trust.”

It is important to mention that this is not the only victory of the Purcari sparkling wines. Cuvee de Purcari Alb Brut and Extra Brut are highly appreciated by the Wine Advocate Robert Parker and enter the Top 10 best sparkling wines in the world, according to Effervescence du Monde.

Purcari sparkling wines are produced following to the traditional method of fermentation in the bottle (Champenoise − which is one of the most expensive production technologies), with the participation of Jerome Barret, Purcari consultant from France.

Today, Purcari is one of the largest producers and exporters of wines in Moldova, delivering its products to over 30 countries around the world. Purcari wines enter the Top 1% best wines worldwide, according to Vivino users.
